If you haven't already taken CANA's Pets in Aged Care survey (less than 2 minutes!), please do it now before the Aug 31 deadline! Your voice matters! And please also share it far and wide - your mum, neighbour, colleague who posts endless photos of their pets!
CANA have received an overwhelmingly positive response for our CANA 2025 Pets in Aged Care Survey. For older Australians already dealing with so much change and uncertainty, having to give up a beloved pet when transitioning into aged care is heartbreaking and wrong!
If you haven't yet weighed in, now is your chance to help create a pet friendly future. We know what a difference this can make to people's lives by the stories we have collected:
"For most people, pets bring joy, love, laughter and a friend for life. I honestly believe people live longer with a furry pal in their life. There are many whose partner has left or deceased, their family are distant, but their little buddy is always by their side. Loneliness can be a killer for the elderly." Tracey and her Buddy Angel.
